Frozen foods are quick and easy. The other day I saw an ad for a company that sells a combination of a frozen pizza and chocolater chip cookies in one….one can only imagine the caloric content of this combination. Is there any wonder why America has an obesity epidemic? beware of the things that sound good…however, often, even the Lean Cuisine” and Weight Watchers” frozen foods have high salt or caloric content. I would much rather that your protein intake is fresh protein such as the already made chicken, turkey, meatloaf you can buy at the supermarkets. Buying these takes no time as you are not cooking them. These arer better than the frozen foods that we buy to save time.

When we feel rushed and stressed for time, we will tend to inhale our food and often we will try to accomplish other taks while we are eating. How often do you see people eating at their desks at work or eating while driving? For long term success in weight control. you need to find the time to separate your eating times from other tasks and try to slow down the eating processs This will be very helpful in not devouring lots of calories in a short period of time. And, how often do you see a “healthy” meal being eaten by someone while driving? The answer it is always seems to be a burger and fries.

Why do they call the hot , humid days of mid to late summer “dogdays”??? Dogs love colder weather. Why dont they call it “mosquito days”???
Anyway, back to the point: a major impetus for weight loss efforts in the spring is the knowledge that summer looms with bathing suit season. We all want to look our best when we start exposing lots more to the public and friends. However, the pools have been opened for awhile, you have been seen already and some drive that was present before these mosquito days is gone. Do not let that affect your efforts. Many other reasons are present to drive your weight loss. Health first and foremosrt does not require a seasonal aspect. Having more energy is especially important during the darker, colder winter month. Stay pumped, stay excited and stay in the zone.

Much pressure occurs when others hold an expectation of us that is difficult to fulfill. I believe that females, being the more “nurturing” of the sexes are often (unfairly) held to a level of expectation higher than their male counterparts. From work performance to the way we look, often expectations put stress on us. It is difficult to not feel the pressure of expectations of others. This certainly plays a role in weight control because we want to make others be more attracted to us. Try to make ytour weight loss efforts about “you” and not about others. YOU deserve to be healhy , happy , self confident, etc. Others expectations should take a low priority.

This entry is coming from Orange County. What a beautiful place! Amazing weather…98% of the time temperatures range from 85 during the day to 50s at night. We ate outside and heaters were needed. Sorry to rub that i n as when I left DC yesterday it was sweltering. I was pretty amazed to see that there were many less overweight people I saw at the restaurant last evening than in the DC area. It was a Mexican restaurant and there most certainly was lots of alcohol, chips etc. My guess is that certain regions of the country are more attuned to what others think about looks as opposed to others. I am not calling Orange County a vain county as opposed to Fairfax. I think Californa in general (Hollywood and such) put more pressure on females to look “glamorous”. Will report more tomorrow!
