Management/Relaxation Techniques
- Set
aside one room or section, if possible as your "escape" area.
Believe it or not, even a large closet will do.
- Try
a portable whirlpool in your bathtub.
- Try
out or purchase a portable massager. Some of these units require
another
individual to direct
the machine. Make sure to return the favor.
- Foot
massagers there are a variety of items. Some include small
basins with water jets. A
foot massage melts away the stress.
- Get
a tropical plant, one that doesn't require a lot of care.
- Relax
in your favorite chair or any chair.
- Get
a shower massager.
- Buy
an air filter or purchase one of the "natural" air
freshener sprays. You may even
try some of the new floral scents that you can put on the air
filter in your furnace.
- Put
some posters, pictures or maps up of far away places.
- Look
through some travel magazines or brochures and imagine visiting
those
places.
- Take
a bubble bath or use one of the variety of bath salts, tablets
or mixes available. And while you're in
the water try
a loofah.
- Use
candles for light, especially at dinner.
- Try
some gourmet or designer foods at home.
- Have
one or two hobbies available and/or accessible.
- Listen
to some relaxing music, you can add a speaker to just about anywhere
in your home, even the
bathroom.
- Purchase
and use a piece of exercise equipment.
- Try
using a full spectrum light bulb in a reading lamp.
- Utilize
a gym or hotel hot tub, sauna or steam room.
- Pamper
yourself; get a professional massage, haircut/styling, manicure
or
pedicure.
- Take
a walk.
