Robert Posner, M.D.
The Serotonin-Plus Weight Loss Program and Dr. Posner developed and patented the Serotonin Formula™, a unique oral serotonin supplement. The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued a patent for this invention in January, 2000 (U.S. Patent Number 6,017,946). Dr. Posner has been in private practice in the Northern Virginia area for 23 years. He has also researched the concept of serotonin replacement for serotonin imbalance conditions, such as depression, chronic fatigue, migraine headaches, premenstrual syndrome, fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome. Dr. Posner’s book, “Doctor, I have a Chemical Imbalance” – The Serotonin Story, was released in June 2002.
Dr. Posner graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors from Binghamton State University in 1977 and then attended Downstate Medical School in New York City, graduating in 1981. In 1984, he became certified as a Diplomate of The American Board of Internal Medicine. During his active duty tour in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Posner was selected to interview for the position of physician to President Reagan as well as physician to Congress. Dr. Posner was voted Teacher of the Year by the Jacksonville Naval Hospital family practice residents in 1986 and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal in 1988. Since starting his private practice, Dr. Posner has taught internal medicine residents from Georgetown University, and medical students from such institutions as The Medical College of Virginia.
Dr. Posner and his family have been residents of Northern Virginia for over 14 years. An avid sports enthusiast, Dr. Posner can be found on the local tennis courts or running at the local parks in his free time.
