The Serotonin-Plus Weight Loss Blog: Calories for the Money

We define “value” in many ways, but one of the most common applications is what we get for our money.  A very common human tendency is to seek the best value for our buck.  When it comes to food/restaurant choices are often made with “value” in mind.  Let’s take a Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant:  That huge “salad” bar, unlimited hot fries and handformed (I am not certain why this is a selling feature…especially when you see the cooks coming out of the restroom) burgers.  Basically all can be yours for under 15 bucks.  Go to a fine restaurant.  The appetizers cost more than 15 dollars.  McDonalds?  How many more calories can you buy for 10 bucks than at a good restaurant?  Try to not let these type of “quantity” value thoughts enter your mind when you are choosing food sources.  Eat healthy proteins, vegetables and keep those carbs and fruits to a minimum.   There is lots of “value” in a long, healthy life.
