The Serotonin-Plus Weight Loss Blog: Events
Memorial Day…sunny, hot and humid…perfect day to hang out at a pool and swim/relax. How many people who that have a weight control problem avoid this scene? The obvious reason is self-consciousness about being seen in a bathing suit. This is especially true for women. It seems that the really overweight guys, with the beer-looking bellies hanging over their bathing suits have little-no concern about being seen. However, I do believe (please feel free to send comments about this) females do not have the same “i don’t care what other people think” attitude. If we all reach deep down, I believe that 99.99% of us do care to some extent how we are “thought of” by others, and our appearance is part of that. Do you avoid events because of your weight issues, and if you do not avoid the event entirely, do you not partake of some of the activities (such as shedding that outerwear to actually go in the pool) as well? Your successful weight loss efforts will most likely enhance your desire to be at these types of events and allow you to enjoy more of the activities without being concerned what other people are thinking. Write me those comments!!!
