For most people, there are things we have done in life that have us looking in the mirror and not being happy for what it is that we did. In order to move forward and “make amends”, it is necessary to have others “forgive” us before we can go on to forgiving ourselves. However, when it comes to a personal issue such as our weight, this truly does not affect others’ health; only ourselves. To an extent, there may be a sensation of feeling “disgust” at what we let happen to our bodies. Under our own “watch”, things got out of control and we have no one to blame other than ourselves. The affected person must move forward to “correct” things and one of the first things everyone must do is to forgive yourself for the event in the past that transpired to cause the weight situation, realize that you cannot change the past but only affect the future. Forgive yourself, roll up your sleeves and get to work to improve the situation.
