The Serotonin-Plus Weight Loss Blog: Getting Up

All of us “get up” many times a day.  We get up from bed in the morning (well, most of us), get up from our chair at work, get up from our couch at home etc.  I observe people “getting up” to the exam table for their blood pressure checks or for evaluation of a medical complaint and I need to examine them.  It is amazing ho much easier it is for the person to “get up” when a healthier weight is present.  It is incredibly reading for me to see many of our patients, who initially struggle to get up on as simple as an exam table, weeks later are able to in spry fashion move about and “get up”.  I know for the very overweight patients, it is somewhat embarrassing to struggle to get on the table, and I can imagine that this elf-consciousness extends to getting up from a business meeting to getting up out of an airline chair.  Losing weight allows you to “get up” and get going!
