The Serotonin-Plus Weight Loss Blog: Success vs. Failure
How many of your actions in life are propelled by desire for success as opposed to fear of failure? I believe every “Type A” person has in the back of their minds a fear of failure that really motivates them to stay on task and accomplish the things they set out to do. There is a fine balance between that fear of failure and the positive desire to achieve the outcome intended. When it comes to losing weight, I believe many do NOT embark on this course because of fear of failure. Most people trying to lose weight permanently have “been there before” meaning they have successfully lost weight only to see the weight go back on. This “yo-yo dieting” cycle is frustrating and at some point, the affected person gives up entirely because of fear of failure. Try to reverse your own thought processes on your weight loss efforts to make your motivation more about the grandeur of success. Feeling healthier, looking younger, having more energy, ridding yourself of medication, etc etc….all of these are positive successful outcomes. Put the concept of “failure” in your history books and make “success” your mantra.
