The Serotonin-Plus Weight Loss Blog: Through the Years

Okay, go ahead and start laughing now.  Last night we went to the Barry Manilow concert at Wolftrap.  The first concert I ever went to, at age 20, was a Barry Manilow concert in Binghamton, NY as a senior in college.  Hearing his old songs, Mandy, Winter in New England and others had memories forming in front of my eyes like watching a movie about my past.  I am certain all of you hear songs that bring you back to ‘the old days”.  There was one point during the concert when on the giant screen he had a video of himself in the 1970s at a piano singing Mandy, and he simultaneously last night was at a piano singing the same song in a duet with himself 39 years ago.  I believe everyone in the boomer age watching this thought of themselves 35 years ago.   Hopes, aspirations, and our entire lives in front of us.  Where are we all health wise now 35 years later?  Hopefully, your answer is “great”.  Do you look in the mirror and think that the years “have been good to you” or are you somewhat disappointed?  If the latter is more the answer than the former, and any of the reason has to do with your weight control, then roll up your sleeves and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.  It is not too late.  Your successful weight loss efforts will have you feeling AND looking younger.  Perhaps not to what you looked like in 1973, but George Clooney and Suzanne Somers still turn lots of heads.  Yes, lots of us have kind of crossed over the peak of the mountain and are on the other side so to speak as far as years remaining on this earth, but lets take those remaining years, grab them by the b—s and make the most of them.
