The odds are that you will not lose weight and keep it off. If you didn't know that already, sorry to deliver the pessimistic news. Changing behavior patterns, especially when the “new” patterns are not as fun as the old, is not a likely scenario. To lose weight and keep it off requires those behavioral changes PERMANENTLY. People who struggle with weight control will go on a “diet”, lose weight, come off the “diet” and gain the weight back. This cycle repeated over and over and over. If you were in Las Vegas, those would be the odds to bet on. It is possible to beat the odds. Watch NFL football on Sundays…there are always several “upsets”…meaning teams who win that day who should have lost. Constantly reevaluate the reasons why you want to lose weight and keep it off..you want to be healthier, happier, live longer, look younger, have energy, etc etc…great reasons. Use these reasons to motivate yourself to beat those odds.
