Feeling “confident” can be a component of different situations. Here are a few examples:

You need to take a test and you studied your butt off, knowing the subject matter inside and out. Your degree of confidence is very high that you will do great on the test.
You need to give a speech on a specialty of yours in front of 100 people. You have delivered the same/similar speech in the past and you have answered the audiences’ questions easily at those prior speeches. Your degree of confidence is very high that your speech will go splendidly.
You run a company whose quarterly earnings keep rising quarter after quarter after quarter. Your degree of confidence is very high that your company will continue to post great results in the future.

Let’s now turn our attention to weight control and your self-confidence. Does being at a healthier weight enhance your confidence level? I believe the answer for most is a resounding “Yes!”. Whether the situation is getting up in front of an audience, appearing at a beach/pool event, attending a gala function dressed up or other similar circumstances, the level of self-confidence improves substantially for people that are controlling their weight.

Pretty much all of us feel better about ourselves when we exert the control and are successful in our weight control efforts. We look younger, more vibrant and display more energy…all of these and more add up to a rapid rise on the “self-confidence meter”.
