Do We Have a Choice?

Where does weight control fall into the category of “choices”? On the one hand, we are all ultimately responsible for what enters our collective mouths.

We do have the choice as to whether to eat the bagel/cream cheese/banana/orange juice for breakfast vs. 3 eggs, bacon and a zero calorie drink.

We also can choose to set the alarm an hour early, get up and exercise before work vs. staying in bed and getting that extra hour of sleep.

So, if we all have these “choices”, why is almost 70% of our population overweight/obese? This ultimately comes down to the issue that we all know what the “best” choices are for weight control, but these choices are much harder to follow through on than deciding what dress or neck tie we wear in the morning.

During your long-term weight control journey, take the time to step back and realize that you do, in fact, have choices to make and the consequences of your choices will dictate your ultimate health and happiness.
