Should You Carry Water?

The late comedian, George Carlin, had a unique way of looking at life and poking fun at things many of us do. One of his routines involved his amazement at seeing people walking around carrying water bottles. His observations revolved around the concept: “What, isn’t there enough water around for people? Everyone has to carry around their own personal water supply?”

I have written previous entries about the utility of lots of water ingestion during your long-term weight control efforts. Water contains no calories, it is probably the best source of fluid for our bodies (that are made up 60% of water), increases the sense of fullness and enhances metabolism. Clearly, water is very beneficial for us in a number of ways. The SP Program recommends at least 64 ounces a day of consumption.

Ensuring the adequate amounts of water ingestion can be helped by keeping a supply of cold water readily available. Having an office a distance away from a water fountain makes this less convenient. I perused the internet this morning to see what types/how many water bottles are available. As I anticipated, there are many different colors, shapes, qualities of keeping the water fresh/cold, etc.

Your weight control efforts will be helped by consuming lots of water and having a good water bottle will aid your mission to keep the water intake 64 ounces a day or greater. Clearly, at home or restaurants, the water is more easily obtained but whether it be at work or in the bleaches watching your kids play baseball or soccer, the water bottle will be a great tool to have.
