What Are The Best Steaks For Weight Control?

Protein is the major food group that is your “friend” during your long-term weight control efforts.  There are many food sources of protein including eggs, poultry, seafood, fish, cheese, nuts and of course, red meat.  The leaner/less fatty sources of protein such as chicken, turkey and fish are the very best proteins to utilize in your dietary plan.  Focusing on red meat, pork is probably one of the leaner sources of fat.

However, lots of red meat eating people love steak.  Filet mignon is my favorite.  There are a number of different types of steaks, many varying quite a bit in price, so what are the “better” types of steaks for weight control efforts?

The cuts mentioned above contain less saturated fat than other types of steaks including NY Strip.

The late Dr. Atkins proved that ingesting LOTS of red meat (basically all you can eat as long as zero carbs are being consumed) is quite compatible with aggressive weight loss.  Steak can certainly be included in your meal planning but there are certain steaks that are probably better than others.
