What Is Your Most Challenging Meal?

The Serotonin-Plus dietary plan recommends three meals a day and snacks. All of the meals should contain a good amount of protein and less fruits/carbs/fats. For many people, there is one meal that may be more challenging than others to conform with the plan.

As an example, for the very busy mother or father of three small children, the breakfast meal may be the most challenging because of time constraints. Getting the kids ready for school, feeding them, driving them to school or the bus stop, then commuting to a stressful day at work…how easy is it to sit down for a great SP meal of three eggs and bacon?

Here is a different example: The parents of high school age have their most challenging meal being dinner because after work, they need to get the kids to the evening sports event, thereby not allowing for an adequate amount of time to prepare the type of dinner meal most conducive for weight control. Consequently, the dinner meal tends to be the most challenging.

A third example: The person whose work often involves lunchtime meetings. At these meetings, lunch is called in by the business. These lunches tend to be the “usual” for these types of working lunches: pizza or sandwiches. For these people, the lunch meal is the most challenging.

During your long-term weight control journey, take a step back and examine your specific challenging meals. Once this is identified, then make a game plan as to how to approach this meal. For example, for the lunchtime meeting person, bringing lunch in with you may be the answer OR requesting that the person charged with ordering lunch is bringing in salads with good portions of proteins. For the dinner-challenged person chasing post-school activities with their children, perhaps a turkey breast or chicken with vegetables from Boston Market is a better alternative than drive thru McDonalds.

Yes, there will always be challenges, but with the right planning, they can be successfully confronted.
